A: TLD stands for Top Level Domain. This is a generic label after the dot that will be used to identify your name (e.g. example.com). It is used as a form of label for IP Addresses to direct queries to a specific URL.
A: A ccTLD stands for country code Top Level Domain. These identify the unique two string characters which are related to a specific country under the ISO 3166 coding. They are originally meant for use in specific countries but have now expanded its usage as an alternative to generic Top Level Domains (e.g. .cc is now used as an alternative to .com)
A: IDN stands for Internationalized Domain Name. These are domains that use character strings in Non-English language such as Korean, Japanese, or Chinese.
A: A second level domain has one dot. It means that there are only two tiers / layers of the label. See sample format (e.g. example.com)
A third level domain has two dots. It means that there are three tiers / layers of the label. See sample format (e.g. example.com.kr)
A: To check your desired names availability just type it in the search box and select the domain extensions that you want to check. Please make sure to check the spelling in order to avoid typo errors before purchase.
A: All domain names follow the same character string rules. Letters (abc), numbers (123) and dashes (/) hyphens (---) can be used in the domain name. However, spaces are not allowed and domain names cannot begin or end with a dash. You can use multiple dashes right next to each other. (e.g. example--names.com)
A: WHOIS is used to display public data for traceability of registrants as to who registered what. The WHOIS policy provides information about the registrant.

There would be a reasonable broker's fee of 10% for the stated service to cover administrative and registration transfer charges (from the old Registrar to MakeDomain.com). Hiring a Domain Broker is recommended in order to protect the best interest of all parties concerned including a smooth transfer of the name registration, negotiation of a desirable price and facilitate access to confidential ownership data common in Privacy Services. Please note that some verification may be required for Trademark protected names.

Once you have developed your website through the use of development tools such as Frontpage and Dreamweaver you can upload these files to a hosting service. You can then go to Domain Management and change or redirect the hosting to the server details of your hosting provider. Your Domain Name(s) will now be linked to the IP Address provided by your hosting service.

In cases where you don't have a ready website, our FREE Domain Parking is an option to temporarily host your Domains until the time you are ready to use them.
Domain Parking is a Value Added Service wherein your unused domains are temporarily hosted by Netpia's MakeDomain to keep them active as they have to be linked to a Hosting service. Once you already have a ready website and want to use your domains all you have to do is unpark your Domains and point them to your hosting service.
Domains registered with MakeDomain.com will be automatically parked upon registration. In case that you want to unpark the domains from MakeDomains.com all you have to do is change or redirect the hosting details to your desired webhosting service. In case the domain is not currently registered with MakeDomain.com or any of our reseller affiliates then you may contact us and with a letter of intent identifying the domains that you want to park with MakeDomain.com. We will send you a verification email together with the hosting redirection details to allow you to park your domains with us.
The WHOIS tool can be used to access the central Registry database. All the details of every domain name are contained in this database. You can search the database by entering a query to different locations that in the Web. You can use the search form of sites or other look-up resources listed in the research tools section.

The parking service is FREE-of-charge and allows exposure for the domains that you want to sell. Parking is not recommended for existing websites that you want to remain active while your domain is being sold. A reasonable Broker's Fee of 10% will be deducted from the proceeds of the sale.
Aside from the traditional use of Domains for E-commerce, the Domain itself may increase in value due its relevance, appeal and other characteristics which may be desirable to potential buyers.
